President's Message

Welcome to Schenectady County Community College (SCCC). SCCC is a historical landmark strategically located in the cultural, business, and arts and entertainment district in the City of Schenectady. With its urban presence, the College strives to serve as a critical partner and leader in myriad areas; namely, higher education, workforce and economic development, and community outreach as well as partnership development.
Without question, SCCC has a team of excellent faculty and staff members that are dedicated and committed to the college’s mission. President’s Biography
Dr. Quintin B. Bullock
President, Schenectady County Community College
Dr. Quintin B. Bullock is the sixth president of Schenectady County Community College in Schenectady, New York. He is a consummate professional, an educator, an exemplary community leader, a mentor, and a positive role model with an extensive and diverse professional background in higher education administration. Prior to joining Schenectady County Community College, Dr. Bullock served as the Provost of the Norfolk Campus and Virginia Beach Campus of Tidewater Community College. Additionally, he served as the Executive Dean for the Damon City Campus and the Director for the Center for Urban Educational Studies at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York.
A longtime educator, Dr. Bullock has amassed a successful teaching record and has taught a variety of science courses at Houston Community College, Monroe Community College, and Tidewater Community College. In addition, he has taught as an adjunct professor for the Graduate School of Education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
His leadership training includes the Executive Leadership Institute sponsored by the League for Innovation in the Community College System, the Lakin Institute, the American Association for Community Colleges' Future Leaders Program, the Wharton/IRHE Program in Higher Education, the Commonwealth of Virginia's Lead Virginia, and the Harvard Institute for New Presidents.
Active in community boards and organizations, Dr. Bullock is a board member for Ellis Medicine, the Center for Economic Growth, the Schenectady Chamber of Commerce, Proctors Theater, and the Schenectady Free Health Clinic. Additionally, he serves on the Commission on Effective Leadership for the American Council on Education. He is also the recipient of many distinguished leadership and community awards. Most recently, he was recognized by the Business Review as the 2010 Promising Newcomer.
Dr. Bullock earned a doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center: Dental Branch in Houston, Texas. Additionally, he earned a bachelor's degree in pre-med and a master's degree in education from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. He also completed post-doctoral studies at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry - Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York.
