Business Administration A.S.
This curriculum is for students who wish to transfer to a four year institution to complete work for a baccalaureate degree in business. The courses are almost evenly divided between the liberal arts and sciences, and selected core business courses applicable to most four-year institutions’ business curricula. Students transferring to four-year institutions may specialize in a particular field, such as finance, marketing, accounting, business administration or management, or business education. Through a special Joint Admissions agreement, select students may be guaranteed acceptance to business programs at the University at Albany. In general, graduates of the Business Administration (A.S.) curriculum are assured admission to a senior college of the State University of New York, providing application deadlines are met. SCCC’s business programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Students interested in the Business Administration A.S. can also apply for the Disney World Program.
SCCC alumnus Mike Krywulych, Class of 2012 (A.S. degree in Business Administration with honors), now comes back to campus to participate in Speed Networking in his role as a Representative for Mutual of Omaha insurance company. Mike remembers participating in Speed Networking, where business professionals visit campus and conduct mock interviews and discussion sessions with students to provide them with techniques and feedback to assist them when they go on actual interviews and participate in networking events for employment. "When I was a student at SCCC, this event definitely helped me," said Mike, who went to earn his bachelor's degree in Finance from Siena College in 2015. "In my role with Mutual of Omaha, I need to think quickly on my feet with clients, CEOs of companies and this event definitely helped me develop the skills to do that."
