New Faces In
Continuing Education

There are new faces in the Continuing Education Division this year, and we thank you for the many warm welcomes and the hospitality that has been extended to them as they settle into the College family:


Maria Kotary Maria Cosentino-Kotary joined our staff in March as Assistant for Continuing Education. She is responsible for Non-credit courses, including computer courses and the College's GED program. She also works closely with Nicki Pidgeon in developing and managing community services initiatives, such as the Summer Youth Program for at-risk kids.
Maria serves on the Web Page Committee, the Community and Cultural Events Committee and the College Planning Council.

Prior to joining SCCC, Maria was Coordinator of Supported Employment Services with the Schenectady ARC. She also served on the Youth Committee of the Workforce Investment Board.

Mary Clare O'Connor Mary Clare O'Connor joined our staff in September as Associate for Continuing Education, after a year of service as temporary Assistant for Continuing Education. She is responsible for management of the evening and weekend credit offerings, both on and off campus, during the academic year, and for management of the College's Summer Term credit course offerings.
Mary Clare serves on the enrollment Services Council and on the Academic Policies Committee.

Prior to joining Continuing Education, Mary Clare served as Temporary Assistant for Academic Services and in the College's Financial Aid Office.


Cheryl DiCocco Cheryl DiCocco joined our staff in April as part-time Events Coordinator with the Capital Region World Trade Center. She is responsible for planning and arranging all CRWTC events and, under special contract, for arranging and publicizing events of the Global Business Network.
Prior to joining SCCC, Cheryl was the Special Events Coordinator at the Bridgeport Hilton in Bridgeport, CT.


Douglas MacDonald Douglas MacDonald joined the Division in September 2001 as a Basic Skills Instructor. Though his responsibilities permit him to move between a variety of basic skills programs, Doug is currently devoting all of his time to our new Introduction to Workplace Skills program, which has been approved as a Tier I site by the U.S. Army.
Doug is a recently retired U.S. Army officer. He holds a BA in History from St. Bonaventure University, a MA in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico, and a MS in Education from the College of St. Rose. In addition, he holds a Paralegal Certificate and studied Spanish at the Defense Language Institute at Monterey, California.
