Fall 2001 on-line courses at SCCC continued the pattern of tremendous growth in enrollments for the third straight year. In 1998, the first year that the College offered on-line courses, 44 students showed interest. The following year, 136 took the plunge. By Fall 2000 that number had climbed to 185, and this Fall's enrollments have vaulted to 307! At 21.9, the average class size is excellent, too.

On-line courses offer a nice alternative to students whose work, family obligations, or commuting distance interfere with attendance on campus during traditional class times. The College anticipates the growth pattern to continue into the 2002 Spring Semester, when 12 courses will be offered on-line:
