In the last issue of Stone Soup, I reported to you about regional planning for the impact of the AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) chip fab plant at the Luther Forest Technology Park. In this issue, I would like to report about another regional effort that will impact what we do in higher education: Tech Valley High School. A classroom that recognizes and supports the individual's need to both belong and contribute can lead to the formation of a community in which each student is more likely to invest. Denise Brucker, Coordinator of Workforce Development, was part of a group of community leaders and members of the 109th Air National Guard Unit who visited Washington, D.C. in November. They are pictured in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetary. The group flew to D.C. on a C130 Military Plane.
