2003 Excellence in International Trade Awards Dinner


On Wednesday, November 19, 2003, the Capital Region World Trade Center, in cooperation with the Global Business Network, hosted nearly 150 business people at the 2003 Excellence in International Trade Awards Dinner held at the Century House in Latham. This annual event recognizes companies and organizations that have distinguished themselves as leaders in the Capital Region's international business community.

 
This year, five organizations and one individual were honored for their accomplishments. The awards and recipients are as follows:

Other awards and recipients included: Export of Services Award - GE Energy Services-Life Extension Services, Service Export Award for Trade Partner - Savage Law Firm, P.C.; and Special Recognition Award - Gerald Shaye - Empire State Development.



Terry Morrison Terri Morrison, with the help of Bruce Toyama of Blasch Precision Ceramics shows the audience that something as simple as a handshake can be a source of discomfort and can lead to misunderstandings if not handled correctly.



book The event was emceed by WRGB news anchor Jack AerneckeJack Aernecke and featured keynote speaker Terri Morrison, co-author of Kiss, Bow or Shake Hands: How to Do Business in Sixty Countries. Terri enlighted as well as entertained the capacity crowd by sharing some of her insights into the fascinating subject of cross-cultural communications and its potential impact on international business dealings.
