2005 Excellence in International
Trade Awards Dinner |
| On Wednesday, November 16th the Capital Region World Trade Center (CRWTC) hosted the 2005 Excellence in International Trade Awards Dinner, it's biggest event of the year at the Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia. The CRWTC staff played host to approximately two hundred guests, who enjoyed an open bar patio reception with exhibitors from 5:30-6:30 PM and a catered dinner before the awards presentation. |
| The 2005 Excellence in International Trade Awards Dinner recognized companies and organizations that have distinguished themselves as leaders in the Capital Region's international business community. Only six companies received these distinguished awards, which covered specific categories that ranged from new exporter award to the most innovative global small business award. |

Many of the guests were CRWTC members, which
encompassed a wide variety of local companies and their representative employees
who seek help in expanding internationally. For the third straight year WRGB
Channel 6 News Anchor Jack Aernecke emceed
the awards. |
The
highly anticipated featured keynote speaker for the 2005 award dinner was Jan
Smith, Manager of Global Communications and Public Affairs for General
Electric (GE). Ms. Smith has served GE for over 18 years as the Human
Resources Manager for Power Systemssourcing, engineering and the Knolls
Atomic Power Laboratory, as well as a communication specialist and leader.
Since 1996 Ms. Smith has been the manager of GE Power Systems Global Communication
and Public Affairs, serving as the company's spokeswoman, responsible for
internal communications, media relations, community relations and government
affairs across the 20 billion dollar, 35,000-employee portfolio worldwide. |
