New Faces in
Continuing Education





Shirlee Dufort Shirlee Dufort has been hired in a temporary capacity as Coordinator of Evening and Alternative Programs through July 2006 to fill a vacancy left by Mary Clare O’Connor as she pursues doctoral studies. Shirlee has been an Adjunct Faculty Member at SCCC since
Fall 2003, teaching English and speech courses. She is an alumna of SCCC, having graduated in 1999 with an A.A. Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences, earning the special medal for highest GPA within that program. From SCCC she went on to earn her B.A. and M.A. Degrees in English from SUNY Albany, and her Ph.D. Degree in the English Composition and Pedagogy Program at SUNY Albany.

Denise Brucker Denise Brucker has been hired as the Coordinator of Workforce Development in the Continuing Education Division. Denise joins SCCC after having been a Tenant Investigator at the Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority. She has served on the Schenectady City Council for eight years, acting as President of the Council for two years. Denise is a Member of the Board of the Schenectady Industrial Development Agency and the Schenectady County Police Review Board. Denise attended SCCC before transferring to SUNY Potsdam, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Education at SUNY Albany. She has also completed the New York State Conference of Mayors Community Workforce Development Training Program.
