Permit me to tell you a story:

Early Spring Courses Popular
For the second year in a row, SCCC's Division of Continuing Education has offered a special selection of Early Spring courses. And the popularity of these courses continues to grow.
Last year, the College offered 9 courses with a total enrollment of 163. This year, 14 courses were offered and 270 students are enrolled.(continued)

| Theatre Course Gets Rave Reviews
Punsters would claim that SCCC’s Theatre program has reached a new stage but, clearly, SCCC’s new Theatre in London course is getting rave reviews from those involved.
Developed as a collaborative effort between the Continuing Education and Academic Affairs Divisions, during its 2002 Early Spring session, SCCC offered a brand new opportunity for students in any major: travel to London, England to study Theatre in one of its most exciting centers.

Non-Credit Programs Generate Record State Aid
Following the trend established last year, Fall 2001 non-credit state aid figures eclipse similar figure for previous years. The GED, ACHIEVE, Employment Skills Training, and Career Readiness programs continued to produce consistent numbers. But the real show-stopper continues to be the new Introduction to Workplace Skills program, which has been approved by the U.S. Army for Tier I Status. By itself, “Tier I” generated more than 44 annual FTE’s during Fall 2001! (continued)

Foundation names Linda Watters Receipient of Award for Excellence
SCCC Foundation President Ben Round and College President Gabe Basil presented the annual SCCC Foundation Award for Excellence in Support Service to Linda Watters, Principal Clerk in the Continuing Education Division. The award recognizes excellence in support service by full-time support staff at SCCC. Linda received the award based on superbly fulfilling her job description, performing her duties in a creative and innovative fashion, and being flexible to the needs of her division (continued)

interpreting as much as, if not more than lecturing and expounding.
A teacher not only needs a base of knowledge but also a willingness
to share, to take chances, and be challenged in order to meet the

What's New in Non-Credit!
Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) offers its students
and the community the opportunity for professional development or
personal enhancement through the Division of Continuing Education’s
non-credit schedule. Students are offered a variety of non-credit
courses in areas such as Computer Technology, Music, GED Preparation,
College Preparation, Archaeology, Fine Art, Writing, and General Interest.

Capital Region World Trade Center Busy in 2001
The 2001 calendar year has been a busy one for the staff of the
Capital Region World Trade Center. More than 307 individuals (unduplicated)
representing 165 companies received direct benefit from CRWTC educational

B:>compatible - the Experts Behind SCCC's Non-Credit Computer Courses
In 1994, Eileen Schoch found out the company that she worked for
was closing its local office she would soon be out of a job.
She was faced with the very difficult question of what her future
would entail. Because of her computer knowledge and expertise, the
individuals involved in the exiting process her former company provided
suggested that she start her own business. Strengthened by a wonderful
support circle that included her husband and many friends, Eileen

Presented: “Tasks, Challenges, and
Satisfactions in Bringing History to
the Surface”
On February 22, 2002 in the Stockade Building, Schenectady County
Community College Archaeology instructor, Dr. Ron Kingsley presented
Tasks, Challenges, and Satisfactions in Bringing
History to the Surface to the Schuyler Provincials and
the Second Regiment Albany County Militia reenactment groups. The
subject matter addressed how archaeology contributes to understanding
