Foundation names Linda Watters recipient of Award for Excellence

         SCCC Foundation President Ben Round and College President Gabe Basil presented the annual SCCC Foundation Award for Excellence in Support Service to Linda Watters, Principal Clerk in the Continuing Education Division. The award recognizes excellence in support service by full-time support staff at SCCC. Linda received the award based on superbly fulfilling her job description, performing her duties in a creative and innovative fashion, and being flexible to the needs of her division.

According to one of her SCCC colleagues, Linda is "a thinker…whose quality of work is impeccable". Another colleague states: "She believes in the philosophy of lifelong education…(she) is an excellent ambassador for SCCC". Linda has also been described as "responsive" and " receptive of needs". She "has easily earned the respect of the entire division".

         Linda first started at SCCC in September 1992 as an Information Processing Specialist I in the Office of Continuing Education. She was named Senior Clerk in May 1997 and Principal Clerk in November 2001.

         Linda's name will be inscribed on a plaque in the lobby of Elston Hall, alongside the names of past recipients.
