The 2001 calendar year has been a busy one for the staff of the Capital Region World Trade Center. More than 307 individuals (unduplicated) representing 165 companies received direct benefit from CRWTC educational services, many returning for more than one event.

EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS:

During the calendar year 2001, the Capital Region World Trade Center presented the following educational seminars:

•    Trade Show Exhibiting at Home & Abroad
•    Managing, Motivating and Keeping Agents
     and Distributors
•    Setting Up an Export Management System
•    Doing Business in Argentina
•    Business Opportunities in Brazil
•    Working Visas: Hiring Foreign Nationals
•    Controlling the Import Process

Eliminating duplication of companies and individuals that attended multiple seminars, the CRWTC served 113 companies and 183 individuals.

CO-SPONSORED EVENTS:

In addition to the educational seminars, the CRWTC co-sponsored an event with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce at which 25 companies attended. The CRWTC also co-sponsored International Night/Export Awards with the Global Business Network. Eliminating duplication from other events, there were 34 companies and 124 individuals in attendance.

TRADE MISSIONS:

The springtime Trade Mission to Korea and Taiwan directly served 10 NYS companies. The October Trade Mission to Argentina, Chile and Brazil directly served 8 NYS Companies. Representatives from Empire State Development, the U.S. Department of Commerce, other New York State world trade centers, and private higher education institutions also participated in these trade missions.

RESEARCH/CONSULTING:

CRWTC Director Brenda Kelley and Trade Information Specialist Dan Bouchard have provided individual research and/or one-on-one consulting to over 50 companies (many of these are included in the seminar attendance).
