Courses At SCCC

 

Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) offers its students and the community the opportunity for professional development or personal enhancement through the Division of Continuing Education's Non-Credit schedule. Students are offered a variety of non-credit courses in areas such as Computer Technology, Children's Courses, Music, and General Interest.


Computer Courses
This Spring, non-credit will offer a selection of introductory and advanced computer courses for students just learning how to operate and navigate the personal computer, seeking certification in Microsoft software packages, or looking to program web pages


Courses Offered

- Introduction to Windows XP
- Computer Survival I and II
- Introduction to Digital Photography
- Introduction to Using Scanners
- American Greetings
- Microsoft Offices User Specialist (MOUS) courses
are open to students seeking certification in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

These courses instruct students on the proper ways to maneuver, customize, and control the computer and surf the Internet.


Cooking CoursesChef

New and exciting this Spring, SCCC is pleased to offer cooking courses for children and adults.

- Professional Cooking for Children - Students join Chef Gail Sokol for a hands-on, cooking class in which they will make incredible entrees and desserts such as Chicken Fried Rice, Lasagna, Angel Food cake, Fudgy Chocolate cake, among other delicious meals.

- Cooking for Adults - A course for adults who wish they had learned to cook or would like to learn new recipes.


Music Courses and General Interest

Other new and exciting courses this semester include "Exciting Perennials for Northern Gardens", "The Art of Reiki", "Introduction to Rock Climbing" for the adventurous at heart, "English as a Second Language" for students who would like to work on their English writing and speaking skills, "Introduction to English Horseback Riding" for students who would like to learn proper English Riding technique, and Music courses such as "Voice for Adults" and "Voice for Children".


YogaAlways wanted to learn how to learn yoga? SCCC now offers a "Beginning Yoga" course in which students can learn the relaxing practice of yoga.
