Courses At SCCC

 

PuzzleSchenectady County Community College (SCCC) offers its students and the community the opportunity for professional development or personal enhancement through the Division of Continuing Education's Non-Credit schedule. Students are offered a variety of non-credit courses in areas such as Computer Technology, Children's Courses, Music, Recreational, English as a Second Language, and General Interest.


Computer Courses
This Summer, non-credit will offer a selection of introductory and advanced computer courses for students just learning how to operate and navigate the personal computer, seeking certification in Microsoft software packages, or looking to program web pages


Courses Offered

- Introduction to Windows XP
- Computer Survival I and II
- Introduction to Digital Photography
- Introduction to Adobe PhotoShop
- Editing Photos & Using American Greetings
- Introduction to the Internet
- How to Use a Palm Pilot

These courses instruct students on the proper ways to maneuver, customize, and control the computer and surf the Internet.



Children's Courses

SCCC is pleased to offer a variety of courses for children this summer.

Chef- Professional Cooking for Children - Come and join Chef Gail on a baking extravaganza and learn to bake advanced breads and pastries to impress friends and family.

- Musical Theater Workshop for Children - Students will perform the musical play The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

- Hands on Archaeology - Students will have the opportunity to experience what daily colonial life was like at the Mabee Farm.

- Other children's summer courses include "Metal Sculpture/Art", "Conversational Sign Language", "Swing Dance", "Yoga", "American Red Cross Babysitting", and "Voice for Children".



Theater MasksGeneral Interest

Other new and exciting courses this semester include "Creative Mixology", "Defensive Driving", "Introduction to Rock Climbing" for the adventurous at heart, "English as a Second Language" for students who would like to work on their English writing and speaking skills, and "Introduction to English Horseback Riding" for students who would like to learn proper English Riding technique.



YogaAlways wanted to learn how to learn yoga? SCCC now offers a "Beginning Yoga" course in which students can learn the relaxing practice of yoga.
