UHS and SLN Courses Keep Up The Pace

The College's University in the High School courses have kept up the pace in enrollment growth during the 2004 Spring term, with a total of 485 students enrolled in 34 courses. This brings the annual total to 1,053 students in UHS courses - a significant jump from last year's total of 519.

Dr. Euclid RoseThis spring semester's enrollment has generated more than 54 annual FTE's, and the annual total is more than 110 FTE's. This growth in enrollment is attributed to the quality of service delivered to local schools by Continuing Education's Dr. Euclid Rose (right) in meeting with instructors, principals, and superintendents to work out registration and logistical issues. Feedback from the schools is consistent: no other college responds so quickly to their needs. We anticipate further growth in the number of courses and in headcount enrollments for Fall 2004.

Congratulations, Euclid!

SUNY Learning NetworkSimilarly, SLN courses (on-line learning) have continued to grow in popularity. This Spring, SCCC is running 17 SLN courses, as compared to 14 last Spring. And, 2004 enrollment has reached 411 students, as compared to 341 last Spring. This Spring's enrollment has generated more than 42 annual FTE's. Classes are full and there are simply no more seats in SLN courses! Based upon the continuing popularity of on-line courses, we will offer 14 SLN courses during the summer term, up from 8 courses last summer. Because of their flexibility in terms of student personal schedules, we anticipate that the demand for SLN and hybrid on-line courses will continue to grow into the foreseeable future.
