2004 Excellence in International Trade Awards Dinner


The Capital Region World Trade Center (CRWTC) hosted the 2004 Excellence in International Trade Awards Dinner on November 17th in partnership with the Global Business Network (GBN). The event was a success with nearly 200 attending in recognition of area business leaders involved in international trade.


Sponsored by Charter One Bank, the event began with a networking reception the Glen Sanders Mansion. Guests mingled among exhibit booths overlooking the Mohawk River

During dinner, opening remarks were made by GBN's past president, Kevin Harrigan of the Bank of America. Brenda Kelley, CRWTC's Director, gave an overview of the organizations and explained that the GBN Board is now officially known as the CRWTC Advisory Board

Scott VirklerScott Virkler, the vice president of business development for GlobalSpec Inc., gave the keynote presentation.

Jack AerneckeJack Aernecke, the news anchor for WRGB Channel 6, was was the Master of Ceremonies. Aernecke presented seven awards to area companies. A special recognition award was given to Prof. Emeritus W. Christian Buss, Ph.D. for his achievements at the University at Albany. The awards were sponsored by UHY Advisors..
