PuzzleSchenectady County Community College (SCCC) offers its students and the community the opportunity for professional development or personal enhancement through the Division of Continuing Education's Non-Credit schedule. Students are offered a variety of non-credit courses in areas such as Computer Technology, Children's Courses, Music, Recreational, English as a Second Language, and General Interest.


Computer Courses
This coming Spring semester, non-credit will offer a selection of introductory and advanced computer courses for students just learning how to operate and navigate the personal computer, seeking certification in Microsoft software packages, or looking to program web pages

These courses instruct students on the proper ways to maneuver, customize, and control the computer and surf the Internet.



Children's Courses

SCCC is pleased to offer a variety of courses for children this spring.

Chef- Professional Cooking for Children - Come and join Chef Gail on a cooking and baking extravaganza and learn to make items such as chocolate chip suprise cookies, lemony braised chicken & vegetables, cripsy phyllo turkey sticks with apricot dipping sauce, and much, much more.

Theater Masks- Musical Theater Workshop for Children - Students will perform the musical play "Dr. Jekyll, Please Don't Hyde".

Piano- Beginning Piano - Students will have the opportunity to learn to play the piano.

- Voice for Children - Students will have the opportunity to learn proper singing techniques and vocal independence.



GED Prep

GED DiplomaIn response to a growing need in the community, the Division of Continuing Education will begin offering a new GED Prep program this Spring 2005 semester. The emphasis will be on assisting students with low reading and math grade levels to build their basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills in order to ultimately pass the GED exam.



General Interest

Other new and exciting courses next semester include "Creative Mixology", "Defensive Driving", "Introduction to Rock Climbing" for the adventurous at heart, "English as a Second Language" for students who would like to work on their English writing and speaking skills, and "Introduction to English Horseback Riding" for students who would like toFly Fishing learn proper English Riding technique. Also, we will be offering our "Fly Fishing", "Beginning Fly Tying", and "Advanced Fly Tying".



YogaAlways wanted to learn how to do yoga? SCCC now offers a "Beginning Yoga" course in which students can learn the relaxing practice of yoga.
