CFN 502(12 hours) Beginning Fly Tying If you're having trouble learning how to fly fish, this course, given in collaboration with the Clearwater Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will give you the tools you need to get started. Students will meet at the Capital Region Maritime Center in Alplaus to learn the basics of fly tying. Topics will include fly tying tools, materials used, wet flies, dry flies, thread handling and hooks, as well as other useful fly fishing topics. Students need to bring their own tools which consist of a vise, hackle pliers, scissors, bobbin, and head cement. Materials will be provided. |
