Organic Chemistry I
This course, the first semester of a two-semester sequence in organic chemistry, includes the study of the structure, stereochemistry, nomenclature, preparation, reactions and reaction mechanisms of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, dienes, cyclic hydrocarbons, halides and alcohols. The laboratory stresses tech- niques, organic synthesis and the use of instruments for analysis.
