Health, Safety, and Nutrition for Young Children
This course addresses basic issues of safety, health, and nutrition in early childhood. Topics such as maintaining a safe and healthy environment, appropriate immunizations, recognizing signs of illness and controlling communicable diseases in early childhood settings are covered. Emphasis is placed on designing a developmentally appropriate health, safety, and nutrition curriculum for children. In addition, the course addresses factors that help promote and maintain the health and well being of the individual working with young children.
