HON 281(3-0-3) Sociology of Power and Class This course explores a number of critical issues in the origin and development of Sociology as a distinct discipline with a specific set of assumptions, methods, and ideologies. Emphasis is placed on historical context, conceptual bias and limitations, research techniques, and policy implications. Elements of social analysis are then applied to a significant topic, social inequality and stratification, which is viewed from a multicultural and global perspective.
