The James Westervelt Fund       Mvc-001f.jpg (31299 bytes)

All gratuities from the Casola Dining Room are contributed to the James G. Westervelt Fund which provides money to bring Celebrity Guest Chefs to the Schenectady Campus.  These successful guests bring their unique skills and perspectives to our students.  The fund is named for Schenectady Student James Westervelt who's Idea became what is now known as the James G. Westervelt Celebrity Guest Chef Series At Schenectady.  James was an area Chef and Schenectady graduate who's' enthusiasm for food was legendary.  James always shared his ideas and enthusiasm with the students and faculty.  James died suddenly in 1993 at a very young age.  Today, his ideas live on in the Celebrity Guest Series and in the Hospitality programs at Schenectady.  Each year, The James G. Westervelt Open Golf Tournament is run to raise the additional funds needed.  The Tournament is held each fall and is a favorite of area golfers.
