Academic Search Premier (EBSCO)

The world’s largest academic database that contains full text articles from many college subject areas, including peer-reviewed articles, and also article abstracts. Subject areas include computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies, and many more.

Access Science (McGraw-Hill)

An online gateway to a library of science and technology information. Updated daily, AccessScience delivers the latest content of the trusted McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, 9th Edition, and the McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 6th Edition.

ArticleFirst (OCLC)
ArticleFirst includes the articles listed on the table of contents pages of journals/magazines. It contains multiple subject areas including business, popular culture, medicine, science, social science and more. Search results will describe an article, news story, letter, or other item from a journal and tell you the libraries where you can find that journal/magazine.

ARTstor

Currently contains over 300,000 images that are all available for educational use. The Collection includes traditional art from many times and cultures and it has architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other art forms.

Book Index with Reviews (EBSCO)
EBSCO and Baker & Taylor have made the Book Index with Reviews database available free of charge through June of 2007. Book Index with Reviews provides information on over 3.8million book titles in a wide range of formats, including large print, books on tape, etc. Fiction and non-fiction titles for juvenile and adult audiences are included in the database, in all genres. The product contains over 800,000 full-text searchable reviews from sources such as Library Journal, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, CHOICE, and others.

Business & Company ASAP (Gale)

Provides information on companies, markets and industries. From market trends, mergers and acquisitions to current management theory and company overviews. you can access business and trade journals/magazines, newspapers and company directory profiles with full text and images.

Business & Co. Resource Center (Gale)

Business and Company Resource Center includes company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies and journals/magazines.

Business Source Premier (EBSCO)

This is the business industry's most used research database. It provides full text articles for more than 8,800 journals/magazines back to 1965. Subjects included are most areas related to business.

Career & Vocational Database (Gale)

This database contains articles with career-specific information.

CINAHL Plus (EBSCO)

CINAHL Plus with Full Text provides articles in the fields of nursing and allied health. It also contains searchable cited references for journals/magazines and provides full text for hundreds of journals/magazines, as well as legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials.

CLASE/Periodica (OCLC)

An index of Latin American journals/magazines in the sciences and humanities.

CQ Researcher

Noted for its in-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy. Reports are published online 44 times a year by CQ Press, a division of Congressional Quarterly Inc.

Custom Newspapers (Gale)

Search a collection of over 300 newspapers, both national and international.

The Daily Gazette, Schenectady 1997-current (on campus only)

Online access to full-text articles dating back to 1997 from Schenectady's Daily Gazette.

EBooks Index (OCLC)
A listing of online electronic books (E-books) available through libraries worldwide.

EBSCO Animals (EBSCO)

Provides detailed information on a variety of topics relating to animals. Contains article abstracts, and full text articles about the nature and habitat of familiar animals.

ECO Electronic Collections Online Index (OCLC)

An OCLC collection of scholarly journals/magazines that lets you view abstracts and full-text articles from journals/magazines that your library has.

Education Research Complete (EBSCO)

Education Research Complete covers curriculum instruction, as well as administration, policy, funding and related social issues.

ERIC (EBSCO)

ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, contains educational and education-related journals/magazines.

Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopdia (EBSCO)

Provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.

General Science Collection (EBSCO)

Contains full text coverage for more than 60 of the most popular science journals/magazines with information on all parts of the scientific world.

GPO - U.S. Government Publications (OCLC)

Covers all types of U.S. government documents, including Congressional reports, hearings, debates, and records; judiciary materials; and documents issued by executive departments (Defense, State, Labor, Office of the President, etc.).

GreenFILE (EBSCO)
GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for approximately 295,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,600 records.  

HarpWeek
HarpWeek lets you directly experience the historical issues of Harper’s Weekly, America's leading 19th century illustrated newspaper. Contains Harper's Weekly from 1857-1912.

Health & Wellness Resource Center (Gale)

Find alternative medicine-focused magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, videos, & reference information on subjects like Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Pregnancy, Herbal remedies, etc. Easily access 700+ videos from Healthology, Inc.'s consumer health video library. Spanish-language videos are available.

Health Reference Center Academic (Gale)

Provides full text of many nursing and allied health journals/magazines, plus the wide variety of consumer health information sources. It combines the full text and images of respected nursing, allied health and medical journals; consumer health magazines; selected newsletters, pamphlets, and newspaper articles; topical overviews; and core reference books.

Health Source Nursing/Academic (EBSCO)

Provides scholarly full text journals/magazines on many medical subjects.

Health Source Consumer Edition (EBSCO)

A collection of consumer health information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Hospitality & Tourism Complete (EBSCO)
Contains research and industry news relating to all areas of hospitality and tourism with more than 500,000 records from more than 500 titles.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (EBSCO)

Contains more than 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings for people working and studying in the library field. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more.

Literature Resource Center (Gale)

Contains biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of more than 120,000 authors from every age and literary discipline. Includes 15-20 page signed essays on more than 1,600 authors and literary genres from 13 acclaimed Scribner print series. Twayne World, US, and English Authors each contains 600 full-text titles.

MAS Ulstra (EBSCO)

Provides full text for more than 700 popular general interest and current events publications with information dating as far back as 1975 for key magazines. Also provides full text pamphlets, full text reference books, biographies, primary source documents, and an Image Collection of photos, maps and flags.

MasterFILE Premier (EBSCO)

Provides full text for general reference publications. With almost every subject area of general interest, it also includes full text reference books, biographies, primary source documents, and an Image Collection of photos, maps and flags. .

MEDLINE (EBSCO)

Provides medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine.

Military & Government Collection (EBSCO)

Offers current news about all branches of the military and government. It has a collection of magazines, academic journals, and other information. It provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals/magazines and abstracts for other titles.

National Newspaper Index (Gale)

Provides quick access to America's top five newspapers in one search, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post.

New York Newspapers (Gale)

Search this collection of ten major newspapers published in the state of New York, including the New York Times and the New York Post.

New York Times full text archive (1851-2004)

Provides full-text access to the New York Times from September 18, 1851 - December 31, 2001. For current issues of the New York Times, please use Custom Newspapers, New York Newspapers, or Lexis Nexis Academic.

Newspaper Source (EBSCO)

Provides full text for national (U.S.) and international newspapers. Also contains full text television & radio news transcripts, and selected full text for some regional (U.S.) newspapers.

Opposing Viewpoints (Gale)

A one-stop source for information on today's hottest social issues. It features viewpoint articles, topic overviews, full-text magazine and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites.

Oxford English Dictionary Online
Chronicles the history and development of the English language since 1150. Search the OED in the simple search mode by word or phrase or in the advanced search mode using more specific search fields such as terminology, author of quotation, part of speech, and other criteria.

Papers First (OCLC)

Contains the papers presented at conferences worldwide, with every published congress, symposium, conference, exposition, workshop and meeting received by The British Library Document Supply Centre.

Primary Search (EBSCO)

Provides full text for popular magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included are assigned a reading level indicator.

Proceedings First (OCLC)

Provides worldwide conference proceedings, each one contains a list of the papers presented at each conference.

Professional Development Collection (EBSCO)

For professional educators, this provides a collection of high quality education journals/magazines, including peer-reviewed articles and educational reports.

PsycARTICLES (EBSCO)
A collection of full-text articles from journals/magazines published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe Publishing Group.

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection (EBSCO)

Provides full text articles, including some peer-reviewed titles. Pit covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.

Reference Universe

Reference Universe is designed to help you begin your research using the truly authoritative resources found in your own library. That may be an online encyclopedia, or a printed specialized encyclopedia.

Regional Business News (EBSCO)
Provides full text coverage for regional business journals/magazines, newspapers and newswires from all areas within the United States.

Religion & Philosophy Collection (EBSCO)

Provides information on topics like world religions, major denominations, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language, moral philosophy and the history of philosophy. It offers full text journals/magazines, including peer-reviewed titles, making it an essential tool for students of religion, theology and philosophy.

Contains over 25% of the world's science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information.

Serials Directory (EBSCO)

Offers full text articles for some of the most popular science publications. Providing information on all parts of the scientific world.

SUNY DSpace Digital Collections

This site is a digital collection offered by various SUNY campuses. It is especially strong in art images such as those offered by Binghamton University's Department of Art History.

TOPICSearch (EBSCO)
Contains currents events in the subject areas of social, political & economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics discussed in today’s classrooms. With full text articles from many sources, including full text journals/magazines.

Twayne Authors Series (Gale)
A collection of information on authors. Contains the full text of frequently used Twayne Literary Masters books on individual World, US, or English authors, for a total of 600 individual full-text titles.

Virtual Reference Library (Gale)
Gale Virtual Reference Library is a colelction of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for many subjects.

World Almanac (OCLC)

Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia and four almanacs, it includes biographies, encyclopedia entries, facts, statistics.

WorldCat (OCLC)

A catalog of books and other materials in libraries worldwide that you can use to search for books you can get through interlibrary loan.

WorldCat Theses and Dissertations (OCLC)
