A scheduled instruction session that introduces students to library resources, services and research techniques.
It is taught by a librarian, in collaboration with you.
It is held in either Begley Library, or in your classroom.
Why should I schedule a library instruction session?
The quality of your students' research will improve.
Librarians will gear the session to the specific research needs of your class.
You will be exposing your students to supplemental subject resources and encouraging their

You will be exposing your students to skills that will benefit them long after they have left SCCC.
You will be helping your students to be Information Literate, and in doing so, will be complying
with both the SUNY General Education Requirements which include the component Information
Management (Information Literacy) and the Information Literacy Competency Standards set
forth by the ACRL, and adopted by the SUNY Council of Library Directors.
