Capital Region Wind Ensemble

Side-By-Side Concert

It has long been the mission of the Capital Region Wind Enseble (CRWE) to serve as role models for young student musicians. As such, the CRWE would like to invite music educators to recommend students to join us for our second concert of the 2014 -2015 season.

The concert will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. The selected students will play William Schuman’s George Washington Bridge and John Philip Sousa’s Foshay Tower March side-by-side with the musicians of CRWE.

All rehearsals and the concert will be at Schenectady County Community College. Rehearsal dates are:

  • Sunday, March 1, 5:15 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 8, 5:15 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 21, 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Students will work with CRWE members in sectionals, rehearse with the full group and participate in master classes where interested students will be given the opportunity to perform solo literature in a workshop format. David Nyberg, currently the percussionist for the Broadway production of Mamma Mia!, as well as area professional musicians, will present the master classes.
