SCCC To Host Fall 2012 Open House

Schenectady County Community College will host a Fall Open House on Monday, October 8, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Washington Avenue campus. The Open House will be held on Columbus Day and gives high school students and their families, and other prospective students, the opportunity to visit the SCCC campus and learn about the College's more than 40 academic programs.

The SCCC Fall 2012 Open House will include an opportunity for prospective students to sit in on SCCC courses in aviation, music, business and criminal justice. Also, an Academic Program Fair, tours of campus, including the new School of Music and Culinary Arts wings, as well as admissions and financial aid presentations will take place. Special workshops will be presented: Life By Design Creating Your Pathways to Success Through A Vibrant Campus Life Experience by Dr. Martha Asselin, Vice President of Student Affairs, and This Isn't 13th Grade Making The Transition From High School to College by Robyn Posson, Counselor in the Student Affairs Division.

SCCC offers 45 transfer degree, career degree and certificate programs, including programs in Accounting, Air Traffic Control, Alternative Energy Technology, Aviation Science, Business Administration, Chemical Dependency Counseling, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Drama, Early Childhood, Emergency Management, Fire Protection Technology, Fire Science, General Business, Health Studies, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Human Services, Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Science, Medical Coding and Billing, Music, Nanoscale Materials Technology, Nutrition, Paralegal, Science, Storage Battery Technology, Teaching Assistant and Teacher Education Transfer.
