SCCC Presents An Exchange of Academic Cultures

Schenectady County Community College invites the public to An Exchange of Academic Cultures, a panel discussion including a contingent of Russian educators who have led academic reforms in education abroad. This event will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., in the Lally Mohawk Room, Elston Hall, on the Schenectady County Community College campus.

Russia is in the throes of major academic reform and these educators will be very open to hearing about community colleges in the United States and their role in providing training that four-year colleges canít.

Visiting panelists are:

Ms. Viktoriya Ivanovna Ivanova, Department Chair, Professor, Tula State University, Department of Linguistics and Translation Studies

Mr. Aleksey Nikolayevich Ivutin, Deputy Head of Research Department, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Tula State University

Mr. Andrey Borisovich Kopylov, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Tula State University, Department of Mining and Construction

Ms. Olga Yevgenyevna Shumilova, Vice Dean of the Humanities Department, Associate Professor of the Division of Sociology and Political Science, Tula State University

Ms. Tatyana Valentinovna Zolotova, Vice Rector for Instructional Research, Tula Region Teacher Professional Development Institute

Ms. Yelena Evegenivna Simonova, Vice Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Tula State Pedagogical University
