If you need to find out the name of your advisor, check at the
Registrar's Office (E-212) or Academic Advisement (E-223).
Use the Directory to obtain your advisor's office location and
phone number.
Check your advisor's office door for posted office hours for
students.
Or, call your advisor and leave a message to have him/her return
your call.
Become familiar with your advisor's office hours/schedule.
Whenever possible, call to make an appointment rather than drop in
without one.
If it is necessary to drop in without an appointment, try to go at
a time when your advisor is available; avoid the busiest time of the day, and allow plenty
of time in case you have to wait to see your advisor.
Because the first and last two weeks of each semester ar the
busiest for your advisor, schedule longer conferences (to discuss issues like a possible
major change, careers or graduation check) during the middle of the semester.
You may obtain a "Request for Change in Advisor" form
from the Registrar's Office if you need to change advisors.
