In our attempt to prepare people for the ever-changing world of work, we ask that you participate in Networking Night for the Sciences & Technologies to be held on April 5, 2007 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm in the Van Curler Room in Elston Hall at Schenectady County Community College. This event is all about communicating what the Capital Region has to offer in the areas of Science & Technology. By bringing together business and educational experts, students and alumni will be able to make clearer decisions regarding their career paths and choices for further educational training. This gathering will also allow the community to understand how SCCC is positioning itself to support the needs of business and industry. Your contribution to this event is important and we ask that you review your schedule inorder to participate. Please review the enclosed agenda, event description and participants to best prepare for this stimulating evening. There is no fee to participate. OBJECTIVES: ·
To
broaden awareness of the changing nature and use of science and technology.

To expand
attendees’ understanding of those involved in this industry. ·
To
provide additional advisement to those interested in pursuing careers or
furthering their education in this industry. ·
To allow
alumni to share their own career and transfer experiences with current students. · To learn of existing employment or internship opportunities. LAST YEAR'S FORMAT:
5:00:
Upon arrival, guests will check in, have an opportunity to tour our science and
technology classrooms, and interact with other
participants while enjoying some refreshments. 5:30pm: President Gabriel Basil will welcome all participants
and share brief insights to SCCC's growth and future planning. 5:45pm: Community Representatives from area companies, colleges and special guests will introduce themselves and their organization's opportunities.
This is a time when participants will be
encouraged
to
write down the people they wish to speak with during the general networking
period.
6:00-8:00pm:
