Starting with the Fall 2013 term, all students (full- and part-time, matriculated and non-matriculated) now have accident insurance which covers their medical bills for injuries caused by accidents. For full-time students, this insurance provides up to $5,000 24/7 coverage for medical bills due to accidents occurring both on and off campus, with no co-pay (additional coverage is available to full-time students for SCCC sports related injuries). For part-time students, $2,000 in coverage is provided while on campus, or off campus engaged in school activities. If you have been injured and are in need of the coverage, you MUST complete a claim form and send it directly to the insurance company along with a copy of your medical bills.
In addition to the accident insurance, full-time SCCC students may purchase health insurance. The health insurance must be purchased within 30 days of the beginning of the semester. You may purchase health insurance through the college’s Student Business Office located in Elston 219. This insurance is not available to part-time students.
