- About SCCC
Commencement is truly a celebration of the future. The hard work and effort you have demonstrated in order to secure your degree shows a commitment to excellence that will serve you well as you continue to achieve your goals. You can rightfully be proud of your success and accomplishment. We are very proud of you! Congratulations!
Schenectady County Community College's 44th Commencement Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Proctors, located in downtown Schenectady.
Graduates should arrive at 2 p.m. and will line up outside of the back entrance to Proctors (the entrance closest to the Parking Garage, NOT the State Street entrance). Guests should go directly to the theater to be seated.
Grads, remember to BRING WITH YOU: your cap and gown and your name card.
A light fare, post-Commencement reception will follow the ceremony and will take place at Key Hall (located next to the theater). At the post-Commencement reception, graduates and their families can share this special moment with the faculty and staff members who have assisted them along their journey. There is no formal program during the reception, therefore it is not mandatory, but we encourage you to attend.
Meet this year's keynote speaker, H. Carl McCall, Chairman of the State University of New York Board of Trustees.
