Articulation and Transfer Agreements

Schenectady County Community College has signed many articulation or transfer agreements with four-year colleges and universities. These agreements outline specific requirements for transferring to parallel programs at those institutions. Generally, these agreements will state that SCCC graduates with an A.A. or an A.S. degree (and sometimes A.A.S. degrees) can transfer with junior status, provided they meet the requirements of the agreement. Agreements may contain specific information on course equivalencies, minimum grade point average, pre-requisites, designated courses or credits, scholarship availability, full-time or part-time requirements.

Since these articulation agreements continue to increase in number and are constantly evolving to reflect changes in program requirements, it is imperative that students consult early with a transfer counselor in Student Affairs to ascertain the terms and conditions of agreements that might be of interest. It is also important to note that transfer opportunities are not limited to those institutions with which we have formal agreements. Most 4-year colleges will accept all of our credits from A.A. or A.S. degree programs, and many of our credits from A.A.S. degree programs. Below are several links that will provide more detailed information about our current articulation agreements and other transfer opportunities.
