Professor Matthew Farron joined SUNY Schenectady in 1997 as an adjunct instructor and transitioned into a full-time role with the Division of Business, Criminal Justice and Law in 2002. He teaches a wide range of business courses such as Introduction to Business, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Principles of Management and Business Computer Applications. Farron also serves as a Business Program Coordinator for the Disney College Program and Business Internships, and as Faculty Liaison for the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce Boot Camp course for students interested in entrepreneurship.

Professor Farron is passionate about teaching and works vigorously on delivering the best experiences possible for his students. He is committed to providing courses that are relevant, interesting, hands-on and reasonable to meet his student’s needs. His collaboration with local organizations has led to the development and delivery of program curriculum that provides students a unique, applied learning experience that is significant to their skill development and professional growth.

Professor Farron was awarded the SUNY Schenectady Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007, the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2008, and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service in 2016.
