Health Information Technician
Students will master entry-level competencies to work as a health information technician (HIT.) The students will be able to navigate and operate within an electronic health record (EHR) and apply appropriate HIPAA privacy and security rules. The HIT student will understand the release of information (ROI) roles and responsibilities within a medical setting and can then sit for AHIMA's micro-credential badge for Release of Information Specialist. The ROI Specialist badge will enhance the student resume and serve as a strong signal of value to potential employers.
