Accessing My SCCC Portal
Using the My SCCC Portal
Go directly to https://livesunysccc.sharepoint.com/sites/MYSCCC OR through the SUNY Schenectady website (sunysccc.edu) and click on My SCCC in the top right corner. Sign on with your new username and password.
As soon as you are signed on to My SCCC, you can access your email and MS Office on Microsoft 365, your courses in Brightspace, and the Banner system as well.
Resetting Your Password
- Go to SUNY Schenectady's Sharepoint
- Click on “Can’t access your account?”
- Click “Work or School Account"
- Enter your full SUNY Schenectady email address
- Enter the Captcha code that shows
- Click “Next”
- Select the desired option.
Note: you will see part of your personal email or phone as it is currently entered in the official College record. - Check your email or wait for a call
- Entered the code provided
- Click “Next”
- Enter a new password
Minimum password requirements:- At least fourteen (14) characters;
- Passwords must not be reused for at least ten (10) generations;
- At least four (4) characters must be changed when new passwords are created;
- Not based on anything somebody else could easily guess or obtain using person related information (e.g., names, telephone numbers, dates of birth, etc.);
- A combination of at least one character from each of the following four listed character
types (older passwords require at least one character from three of the following
four types):
- English uppercase letters (A-Z);
- English lowercase letters (a-z);
- Base 10 digits (0-9);
- Non-alphanumeric (such as ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - = { } | \ : " ; ' < > ? , . / and space)
- Click “Finish”
- Reset complete. Go back to the login screen and use your new password.
Once you change the password on the portal, the new password can be used – within five minutes – to login to these IT related-services: e-mail, Brightspace, desktop, and wireless network; do note that this password change in the portal will NOT reset the Banner Self-Service PIN nor will it reset the Banner security question.
When you are finished, exit and close all your browser windows to protect your privacy.
Please note that IT at SUNY Schenectady County Community College will never ask you by e-mail to reset your passwords so please ignore and delete such spam/fishing messages and do not click on any links they may contain.
